Google's Panda Update 2.1 and 2.2
The latest Google buzz is over the supposed release of another
major change to the Panda ranking algorithm. Some have dubbed
it "Panda 3.0" but Google has refuted that claim calling
their latest change only a "minor update."
In late February, the Google Panda
Update hit the waves and wrecked havoc on low quality and
content farm websites. Panda impacted roughly 12% of all U.S.
rankings and some websites reported up to 40% traffic loss.
In early April, Goggle rollout out the Panda update to all English
queries, including English speaking countries and any English
queries done on other Google search engines. Google also incorporated
user-generated feedback i.e.blocked sites, search history, as
a way of further filtering results. And, most recently, rolled
out an update aimed at scraper sites - spam sites that copy content
from other websites using web scraping.
At the end of the day, Google continues to remain focused on
providing quality, relevant search results as quickly as possible.
Low quality sites, content farms and now scraper sites surely
don't fit that goal.
What to do? Keep your website update with relevant content and
remove any overhead, low value or duplicate URLs from the index.
