Google Still Reigning as King of
Search
According to the latest report by commScore Networks, Google
still reigns as king in the search market, claiming 47.3% of the
market with Yahoo claiming 28.5%.
With Google being a well-known verb that's synonomous with searching,
it's no wonder they're still reigning as king of search.
Per commScore, Google increased their share of 0.4% of U.S. Web
search last month, resulting in a 47.3 percent share of the market
in December, up from 46.9% percent in November.
While Google still sits comfortably at the helm, commScore had
good news for Yahoo who still sits in the #2 spot and continues
to be Google's closest competitor. Per commScore's report, Yahoo
saw a 0.3% month-to-month increase, moving to 28.5% of the market
share in December, up from 28.2% in November.
Microsoft, however, continues to trail and actually slid 0.5%
in market share to 10.5%, followed by Ask.com who dipped 0.1%
to 5.4 percent.
For the month of December, web searchers Googled 3.2 billion
searches during December and went to Yahoo for 1.9 billion searches.
